Hey folks, I’m in a bind and could use some advice. Our BHPH dealership in Texas is struggling with our current DMS. We’ve got a big operation - over 300 cars and 2,500 active accounts. Our current system is super slow and full of bugs. It’s driving everyone nuts!
The sales team is wasting tons of time just trying to input deals or print docs. And don’t get me started on our collections team - they can’t even look up accounts without a huge wait.
We need something that’s fast and reliable. A few must-haves:
Smooth collections process with a good queue system
Auto-tagging for title transfers
Easy to see final payment dates while making deals
Quick access to full payment schedules
Anyone have experience with a system that checks these boxes? What’s worked well for your dealership? I’m all ears for suggestions!
DealerCenter’s probably your best bet for a high-volume BHPH operation. Used it at my last dealership - handled 3000+ accounts without breaking a sweat. Lightning-fast lookups, robust collections module with priority queues, and auto-flags for title work. Deal structuring’s a breeze with payment schedules and maturity dates front and center.
Word of warning though - implementation’s a beast. Took us nearly 3 months to fully migrate and train staff. But once it’s up and running, it’s rock solid. Make sure you negotiate hard on the pricing - their initial quotes are always inflated.
If DealerCenter’s out of your budget, look into Auto Master. Not quite as slick, but it’ll get the job done for a fraction of the cost. Just be prepared for a clunkier UI and slower updates.
I’ve heard good things about DealerCenter, but man, it sounds like a pain to set up. Have you looked into AutoManager DMS? A buddy of mine uses it at his place and says it’s pretty solid for BHPH. Not sure if it has all the bells and whistles you’re after, but he mentioned it’s quick and handles their collections well.
Might be worth checking out their demo if you haven’t already. I think they do a free trial too, so you could probably test it out without committing. Just a thought.
Whatever you go with, good luck with the switch. Changing systems is always a headache, but sounds like it’ll be worth it in your case. Hope you find something that works!
